Which character encoding we used for English text
(Global System for Mobile Communications)
We used GSM8 for English text. GSM8 is a character encoding standard used in GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications) networks for sending text messages. It allows messages to be transmitted using only 7 bits per character, instead of the full 8 bits used by most other character encoding standards.
